At present 137 International Students from various countires like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Kenya, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Oman & UAE etc., are studying in vairous programs at NIT Silchar. NIT Silchar supports various programmes for International Students through:

1. Study in India Program
2. DASA (Direct Admission of Students from Abroad)
3. ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations)
4. MEA (Ministry of External Affiars)

1. Admissions for DASA onwards will be based on JEE Main ranks
2. International Students "Application portal for PG admissions under DASA"

We are setting out target for more foreign students under various schemes of Government of India as well as by other foreign Governements. The main aim of these MoUs is to collaborate at various levels to enhance the quality of research in NIT Silchar and also to exchange students and faculty for upgrade of knowledge, exposure to state of art research cultutre.
